Incorrect manual handling of loads is one of the most common causes of injury at work, accounting for nearly one third of all reported accidents. The Safety, Health and Welfare at Work, (General Applications) Regulations (2007) were introduced to help minimise the risk from manual handling operations. A requirement of these regulations is that employees are suitably informed and capable of performing manual handling operations.

Under the requirements of the 2005 Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act, all staff must carry out regular training in the use of workplace safety equipment. Our course is designed to give each attendee a comprehensive theoretical and practical knowledge in the selection and usage of portable fire extinguishers. Hands-on practical experience with fire equipment will be provided. All students are encouraged to use the equipment under the guidance of a trained instructor.

Safety representative training and safety committee training. These guidelines are aimed at employers, employees, safety representatives, safety committee members and safety and health practitioners. They are a guide to sections 25 and 26 of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 (No. 10 of 2005), hereafter called the 2005 Act.
They aim to give general guidance on the roles of each party in the process of safety consultation and representation, so that accidents and ill-health at work are prevented. The provisions of the 2005 Act apply to employers, employees in all employments and the self-employed.
